Undated "crayon portrait," combining a weak photographic print with extensive handwork in charcoal and blue pastel--in this case, creating an awkward mix of chiaroscuro (face) and cartoonish freehand (jacket). In a glazed oval frame, 16 x 13 inches. Late 19-early 20th century. Wear to the frame and some surface imperfections, Very Good overall.
