Raku Tatami Platform beds are an Eco-Friendly product constructed in a manner that is less harmful to the environment than many other furniture products on the market today. To begin with, the Raku bed is made from solid Parawood, also known as Rubberwood, and does not contain any particle board or MDF. In addition, Parawood is a sustainably produced wood, sourced from plantations when the Rubberwood has reached the end of its productive sap-producing life. To prevent cracking and warping of the wood, the Raku is constructed with solid blocks of Parawood finger joints and finished with an inert lacquer finish. The finger joints can add a unique look to the lighter natural and honey oak finishes but blend into a more uniform look on the dark walnut finish.
