size 1” Described by Bristish zoologist Reginald Innes Pocock in 1899. This fossorial spider from India is a heavy webber and will build a intricate burrow and tunnels. The adults get about 5.5 inches and have a violet hue to their femurs mostly noticeable after a molt. This is where the common name Indian violet comes from.
