size 1” One of my favorite species. This tarantula displays some unusual behavior and is known for twirling around its hind legs that is armored with sharp spines as a defense. Larger females can get 7”-8” as adults. First described by Anton Ausserer in 1875, this tropical terrestrial spider will definitely make you stop to look at it.
