Joseph Colin, Chassagne-Montrachet 'Hereditas' 2022

Variety: Chardonnay  Joseph Colin is cut from the same serious Burgundy winemaking cloth as his father and older brother, Marc Colin and Pierre Yves Colin-Morey respectively. Joseph has not only inherited some of the most valuable parcels of land on earth from his father, he also tends to these valuable vineyards as if they were from his own secret garden. There is almost no one who knows the secrets of these rocks and vines to the caliber that Joseph does. He can not make it more plain when he states, “I want to deliver rocks and terroir in the glass…”  From 3 parcels all surrounding Grand Cru Criots Batard Montrachet: Les Meix Goudard, Blanchot Dessous, En Journoblot. 70+ year old vines rooted in clay-limestone soils. Fermented and aged in a mix of older 500L and 228L barrels. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
