His name commands respect, the wines are sought after, yet difficult to track down. What set him apart from other producers growing the same grapes in this region is the love and passion that went into each one of them and the whimsical hand-written bottle labels. This is a true passion project as the wines are never hurried in the cellar. Multiple passes through the vineyard allows the making of more than one wine from the same grapes, including the tedious process of the appassimento method where the grapes would raisinate on straw mats. After a career spanning 60 years, his daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren carry on his passion for the things in life that need a little more time.
