From George to Alfred

Ashley Buchanan focuses on iconic imagery, decorative patterns, and familiar motifs to reference ornamentation and historical jewelry. In the one-of-a-kind piece she created for the Amore exhibition, she has altered the powder coat by burning, sanding and distressing it to create unique color and texture that arouse feelings of heartache, joy and memory. Ashley’s goal is to speak with a fresh voice by creating wearable works of art that push the boundaries of jewelry while maintaining a clean, contemporary aesthetic.
