It has a Dark Brown patina and is set atop of a sturdy black marble base and is signed Barye. The two most ferrous animals come together to rumble it out. Who will win you ask? Well that is up to your imagination, but the sculpture itself depicts that the Black bear is clearly at an advantage. Although capturing the animals in a truly rare state of dominance and competitiveness there is a strange human like nature to it as well. As the bear chokes the bird, the bear struggles to kick him off with his hind legs bearing claws and all. His mane is a mess as his hair stands on his belly. Both bearing fangs, they mean business.
