The western facing ridgelines near Capitol Reef National Park absorb the last hues of twilight in near darkness during a 30 second exposure. Southern Utah Desert. "One of my favorite landscape images, this image was captured in near darkness utilizing a 30-second exposure to capture the last subtle light of twilight gently illuminating the west facing ridge lines. From my vantage point I could barely see these ridge lines nearly a mile away. Twilight…aka “the blue hour”, is known for its blue hue in the sky. Working with soft light like this can produce unique tones, textures, and moods, ones especially showcased well by the unique color palette of Southern Utah.  I’m really proud of this composition because it’s a location I found, that I put in the work to scout and discover. I was so stoked when I found this composition. The foreground hillside has a different colored soil, tinted auburn with perfectly spaced sagebrush and grass, such as wonderful aesthetic." -Noah Wetzel
