We would do well as a country to appreciate their insights on the shape and direction of our country. Fearing that which is your salvation is pathological. If there is hope for true democracy in this place we call America, it is grounded in how we treat black women and heed their warnings. While we celebrate their resilience within black spaces, we also mourn their perpetual need to overcome the trials of this space.
