Remarks: Metriaclima tarakiki is known by several names in the hobby, including Metriaclima sp. "Zebra Slim," "Zebra Compact," and "Zebra Slim OB Blueberry." The word tarakiki means "slim" in Swahili, in reference to the long, narrow body shape of these fish compared to other Metriaclima spp. They are found between Ngkuyo Island and Higga Reef in the Tanzanian coastline of Lake Malawi. Some locations have OB males present in the wild, while others have only OB females while males are blue and black striped. OB males have long, slender bodies with white scales covered in blue and black blotches. It is reported that both BB (blue with black bars) and OB Males will produce spawns that contain males of both phenotypes, which makes for a very spectacular looking mbuna.    Like most mbuna, zebra slim OBs are herbivorous and feed on aufwachs in the wild. If too much protein is fed to these fish, you run the risk of giving them bloat so a majority of foods given should be vegetable or algae ba
