
Handmade Medal of St. Fiacre, Patron of Taxi and Delivery Drivers
A handmade medal of St. Fiacre, patron of cab drivers and delivery drivers, meant to be given to drivers to be carried, worn, hung from a rear-view mirror, to protect them and help get them good fares and tips. I design, carve, and cast the medals myself (see last 3 photos). The medals are made of lead-free pewter and have designs on both sides. The pendant comes with a jump ring (see photo 1), so it can easily be attached to any chain you have. This listing is for the pendant alone, but it does come with a split ring so it can also be used on a key chain (see photo of packaging). Each medal comes in a felt jewelry pouch with a history card that states:"The connection of St. Fiacre, a 7th-century Irish priest, to the patronage of taxi and delivery drivers takes a loop through 17th-century Paris. The story: around 1650, the Hotel de Saint Fiacre began hiring out carriages. The carriages and later cabs in Paris began to called 'fiacres,' and, by association, St. Fiacre became the patron
