
Intro to Hand Darning Workshop - February 26
Join us for a hand-darning workshop with Nandi of Bliss Joy Bull! Make your holey sweaters wearable again with darning. Learn how to repair holes in knitwear by darning a hole by hand and with a Speedweve-style darning loom. This two-hour class will guide you through the process of creating and darning a rectangular patch with yarn. You will learn the best tools and materials for repairing knitwear with darning. Bring your own sweater with a 1” hole or smaller to repair! Learn the basics of hand-darning knit fabrics. You’ll learn how to repair your holey socks and sweaters. This workshop covers: Tapestry needles, and wool and cotton yarns will be provided. A knitted swatch will also be provided to practice these techniques. You'll be provided a darning loom for use during the workshop - available for purchase after the workshop In general, chunkier knits in a solid color without patterns are easier to learn how to darn.
