Suminagashi is the ancient Japanese art of paper marbling, and translates to "floating ink" or "spilled ink". In this workshop, you'll explore the wonders of floating colorful ink on the surface of water to make mesmerizing prints. Guided by Kelly Laughlin, founder of Odette Press, you'll learn the basics of the process, the history and materials, then relax into the flow of the practice as you use color, ink, water, breath, and a variety of papers to make your mesmerizing marbled designs.
