c. 1920s; Superior Hat Co. - St. Louis, MO Antiuqe cardtsock countertop standee display. This piece advertises green-tinted Goggle-Visor hats, sold as "Tennis-Golf Monitoring and General Sports Wear". These hats were utilized by athletes, referees, and attendees at sports games to block sunlight and any additional glare. The sign depicts the two ways this hat can be worn, as the upper shield is convertible to protect either the neck or forehead (while also keeping locks of hair in place) depending on the direction you're facing.
