Walters is an interdisciplinary artist currently studying at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). Her practice centers around self-portraiture, movement-based performance, public art, and art education using video, photography, performance, and writing. Inserting her body in public space, both natural and metropolitan, she uses the body to activate atmospheres, exploring healing through movement, nature, color theory, and time. Her work examines the relationship between one’s physical self and its history, investigating gender, race, visibility, and violence — invested in exploring wounds and the healing that takes place after.
