Probably because most heroes have a backstory that sounds like a hero’s backstory. Sam’s doesn’t. He’s a gardener. And a fan of roast chicken. But it’s these things, his love of home and hearth, that make him brave. Because he has something worth fighting for. That’s why I absolutely loved searching for things that would be found in his kitchen. It’s a special place for him. Cooking for his family and enjoying a meal with friends…there’s just so much love in it all. Most of these items were found in antique shops and I had to unbury them from their little hideaways.
