This human alpha-2-macroglobulin (A2M) assay is for the quantitative determination of A2M in human plasma and serum. For research use only. Human A2M will bind to the affinity purified capture antibody coated on the microtiter plate. After appropriate washing steps, biotinylated primary antibody binds to the captured protein. Excess primary antibody is washed away and bound antibody is reacted with horseradish peroxidase conjugated streptavidin. Following an additional washing step, TMB substrate is used for color development at 450nm. The amount of color development is directly proportional to the concentration of total A2M in the sample.
