This is a frozen liquid buffered in 0.1M HEPES; 0.1M NaCl; pH 7.4 and a purity of >95%. This product is useful as a positive control for ELISA and western blot and for a variety of in vitro applications including cell differentiation, cell signaling, clotting assays, fibrinolysis, plasminogen activation, protein-protein interactions, receptor binding, thromboelastography, thrombolysis, and zymography. Prepared from plasminogen by activation with immobilized uPA. 100% functionally active plasmin is purified from the activation reaction by immobilized SBTI. Plasmin will undergo rapid auto proteolysis in the absence of benzamidine and should be used quickly once thawed. Aliquot to avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
