Original U.S. Winchester Model 1873 .38-40 Rifle with Round Barrel made in 1885 - Serial 183685B

Original Item: Only One Available. "The Gun that Won the West!" This fine rifle is in .38-40 caliber (marked .38 CAL on the feed block) with a 24" round barrel and full-length magazine tube. Features the classic front sight and iconic "buckhorn" rear adjustable sight. The serial number is 183685B denoting the year of manufacture as 1885. The engraving on the top of the barrel is clear, with just a bit of corrosion fading: WINCHESTER'S-REPEATING ARMS. NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A.KING'S-IMPROVEMENT-PATENTED-MARCH 29.1866. OCTOBER 16.1860. Stocks are in good condition, but do show typical wear, with the expected dings and issues from long service. There is a repaired crack on the underside of the fore stock, and it has been sanded down a bit in that area, probably to remove finger wear. The butt stock is in great shape.
