Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice example of a genuine WWII Front-Seam Fixed Bale M1 Helmet made by McCord Radiator, fitted with a very nice liner by Firestone. The U.S. WWII M-1 helmet was only produced from 1941 to 1945. The first production batch resulted with over 323,510 M-1 helmets before the start of the American involvement in the war. This helmet is heat lot stamped 325E which indicates the approximate manufacture date of October/November 1942, not too long after the U.S. entered WWII. The front of the shell has a period authentic “Blue and Gray” Yin and Yang painted insignia for the 29th Infantry Division. The insignia appears to be period original, though we have noted that the design is reversed, while the colors are on the correct sides. Typically a stencil was used, and it was quite easy to flip the insignia inadvertently. We can see that markings were made on the helmet to assist in painting it, but it is definitely hand painted on over the original
