This 1998 reissue includes 3 bonus tracks.One year after the biggest hit of her solo career thus far, 1982's I LOVE ROCK N' ROLL, Joan Jett released her much anticipated follow-up, titled simply ALBUM. While it's another strong piece of melodic punk/pop in the tradition of Jett's previous recordings, ALBUM failed to set the world afire sales-wise as had its predecessor.This is puzzling, since it remains one of Jett's finest and most consistent albums. Standouts include a stripped down cover of Sly & The Family Stone's 1969 ode to racial harmony, "Everyday People," as well as a Jett original, the self-explanatory "Fake Friends," and the racy Jagger/Richards composition, "Star Star."
