Leap

Leap is one of three paintings of the same vein featuring the white Camargue horse in motion. These horses live on the edges of the Mediterranean Sea, at the junction of where the Rhone river empties its waters after her long trajectory. The water here is brackish, and these phenomenal horses, use their senses to know when it is safe to drink from the banks; when the tide is at its lowest, the horses can drink, when it rises, they know not to partake. Because they live literally in the water, or on its banks, they are frolickers and love to move and run and make splashy displays. I love their energy, and this painting exemplifies just that!
