At first glance it looks like a butcher's cleaver, but it is actually a Chinese Cleaver. Cai Dao is the real name, and it is used to slice vegetables. The blade is much lighter in weight and thinner is section that a butcher's cleaver. The blade measures 7.5" (191mm) by 3.5" (89mm) and 3/23" (2.3mm) thick. The handle is stabilized and dyed Poplar Burl with black and white G-10 spacers and is oval in cross section.
