The Stephanie II

Stephanie is a proud matriarch who has twin daughters and three grandsons. As a single mother, she enrolled in nursing school but had to pause her education to support her family. However, at the age of 45, Stephanie went back to school to pursue her dream of becoming a surgical technologist. Her favorite aspect of the job was orthopedics. Stephanie lives in a Naturally Occurring Retirement Community (NORC), a housing development where JASA provides activities. She was looking to meet other seniors, and JASA helped her connect with peers and become part of a community. “It’s harder to make friends when you’re older, and you lose people you’re close to. Connection is important. JASA has allowed me to be part of a community.” Stephanie thanks JASA staff for supporting her through some difficult times.
