Code: JP7017ISMN: 979-0-3019-0049-9Henri Brod (1799-1839) entered the Paris Conservatiore at the age of twelve as a pupil of Vogt. Quickly gaining recognition, by the time he was twenty years of age he held a position with the Paris Opera, playing second to his former teacher. Brod's Complete Method for Oboe was published in two parts. Volume I was published in 1826 and Volume II, 1835. In addition to his oboe method, Brod composed several other works, still in use today, including several solo works with keyboard accompaniment, woodwind quintets and trios for oboe, bassoon and piano. This current edition of Henri Brod's Complete Method for Oboe, Volume I, is based on a facsimile of the original publication of 1826. It has been edited by Valarie Anderson. Some articulation markings and dynamics have been added, but in so doing, striving to maintain the intent of the composer. Notes have been changed only when obvious accidentals are missing or the notation of the hand
