Athena
Athena was the goddess of wisdom, combat, and victory. According to most myths, Zeus and Metis conceived a child together, but a prophecy indicated that this child would prove more wise and powerful than Zeus so Zeus decided to solve this problem by swallowing mother and child. A few months later Zeus had a terrible headache so Hephaestus chopped into his head with an axe. Athena sprung out fully formed and armed to the teeth. Athena wasn’t bloodthirsty or violent in war. She was a strategist who preferred to use wisdom to end conflict She was also like Artemis and Hestia, a virgin goddess who enforced the rules of sexual modesty. Athena had a sacred bird, an owl which was often shown perched on her hand or shoulder. Athena is a speckled base of reds, pinks and yellow on a white base. Available in the following yarn bases.
