Hera is the wife of Zeus, the Queen of Olympus, and the Olympian goddess of marriage and childbirth. Hera doesn’t hide the fact that she’s the Queen of Olympus. Also evident in ancient art, they always depicted her with a diadem and scepter, a symbol of power. In some sculptures, she’s sitting on a throne to signify royalty. She was tricked into marriage by her brother, Zeus. The thunderer fell head over heels with the goddess, but she refused all of his proposals. Zeus had enough of it, and so transformed himself into a cuckoo bird. Hera noticed the freezing, so she cradled it in her bosom out of pity. As soon as the goddess arrived home, Zeus revealed himself and made love to her. Some say the goddess fell in love immediately afterward, while some agreed that she married him to cover her shame.
