Luang Prabang snow peas also go by the name "Maiden's Blush" due to the faint pink blushing that develops on the outside of the pods. I notice this pink blushing is more pronounced in warmer weather. It is also called a "mange tout" pea because you can eat them as a snow pea or allow the peas inside to swell and shell them out as sweet peas. The Laos region is considered sub tropical / tropical. Therefore, this snow pea cultivar handles warmer temperatures better when compared to other snow pea cultivars. It is the last of my pea crops to finally die off when the warm weather of spring arrives. Pods are very large and plants are very productive.
