Claus Comet Ornament - JS008

In our new Santa ornament series we're bringing some of our favorite Santas from Jo Sonja's 50 year treasury of whimsical design.  This first series is Folk Art Santa's, and there will be many other designs, both historical and new, added as we go along.   Also look for other new series coming soon! Another wonderful outlet for our creative journey, each ornament is done out of mdf and laser cut with intricate detail.  The patterns are etched on the surface for ease of painting.  If you prefer to not use the etching, it can be painted over with Gesso or Texture paste and then the pattern can be applied - as you prefer. Well here he is, Elves and all!  In the original version they are very simply done with lots of good strokework but as I painted them, they changed.  So, I want you to feel free to interpret them in your own way too.  But I'll share how they were painted, just in case.  First published in the book, Christmas Wishes in 1992, the design is also featured in packet JP1173.
