226 CLUB 226 Club is Fulton & Roark's toast to those willing to take a chance in the pursuit of an unforgettable night. In 1920, the US federal government’s prohibition of alcohol began, effectively closing every bar in America. Of course, the alcohol ban didn’t keep Americans from drinking. It simply moved the party underground. Speakeasies popped up throughout the States. When it came to scofflaws, there was no place quite like Chicago. And when it came to the Chicago scene, rumor had it that there was no place as lively as The 226 Club. Of course, separating fact from fiction isn’t easy considering the place was built on secrecy and an endless stream of cocktails. One hundred years later, that’s part of the charm. Amidst all the tales of legendary mobsters, and crooked city officials, the most fascinating stories of them all were those of the ordinary joes and janes looking for an extraordinary night–risking a run-in with the police for a night of libations and dancing with frie
