Labradorite Slab
Labradorite is a fascinating stone because of what is known as the schiller (German, for "twinkle") effect: the metallic iridescence that occurs when light reflects between two layers of a mineral at an angle. Also referred to as adularescence or labradorescence, this effect is found also in moonstone, opal, and sapphire. Each has its own bright personality that is visible at certain angles of light, and often resembles a galaxy or oceanic scene!
