The first type is the Standard Style Mechanical Tappet. The second type is the Standard Style Hydraulic Tappet. The third type is the Powerglide Hydraulic Tappet and the fourth type is the Hydrosolid Tappet. All assemblies listed are of the Big Axle Roller design. The roller is designed around only three working parts that have been improved for durability and reliability. The Big Axle Tappet has a 27% greater wall that reduces harmonic distortion for better tracking of the cam lobe. In addition, the pin bearings have been reduced in size to increase RPM for more precise tracking around the axle, and the axle Fitself has been increased in diameter by 36%.
