Circular Cardigan: Coconut & Indigo
This new garment pattern features the use of selvages to the max -- and we couldn't be prouder! Showcasing the talented artists behind each step of the production is what we are all about. Take a look at the edges of this cardigan, we hope you will appreciate the dyers and weavers behind the piece. Back joining of woven selvages features careful stitching by hand, led by our partner Claribel in Sumpango. Her team is doing a fantastic job with this construction, in collaboration with master seamstress, Betty. All yarns used are cotton and naturally-dyed by our partners at San Juan la Laguna. Weaving with traditional wooden pedal looms also at Lake Atitlán in collaboration with the dyers who prepare both the warp and weft threads. Embroidery is also performed with naturally-dyed hues, in this case, with natural indigo.
