Trudy Benson: Doom Bloom

Signed and numbered edition of ___ by Trudy Benson @trudybenson 6 color screenprint on 100lb French, 2025 The process of printmaking feels natural to me: my paintings are formed as a series of layers.  Sharpness in the foreground and fuzziness of sprayed paint in back create a shallow space, reminiscent of a digital space.  In Doom Bloom, a deep and limited palette further compress the space.  Hard edges are not taken seriously, and my hand and properties of the material (like bleed) contrast the digital space.  My paintings and prints alike are aware of themselves as antiquated objects in a digitized world.
