Life and poetry are always subject to revision. Patricia Williams, originally from the Chicago area, began writing poetry in 2013 after retiring from a teaching career in Art and Design. She taught in the Wisconsin K-12 school system, then, for 27 years, taught at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point. Pat and her husband live in the Wisconsin countryside, eight miles from Iola, a village of 1,300, and 25 miles from any place larger. Her poetry appears in literary journals and anthologies and was chosen for several painting and poetry collaborations. She has a chapbook, The Portside of Shadows: Poems of Travel (Finishing Line Press) and an award-winning collection, Midwest Medley: Places & People, Wild Things & Weather (Kelsay Books), which the Wisconsin Library Association designated “Outstanding Achievement in Poetry for 2018.” Pat was nominated for the Pushcart Prize and Best-of-the-Net award, placed for the Kay Saunders Emerging Poet award and the Hal Prize.
