Digitalis
As a child, I played in thick fields of summer wildflowers that bordered our forest. I loved all the native flora, but nothing charmed me more than the foxglove. My mom told me how the native people would use this plant as a medicine, but only in very small amounts. If ingested improperly, digitalis is deadly. It fascinated me how something so beautiful could be so lethal.
