The arid Gila National Forest in Silver City, New Mexico is home to Dragonfly Trail, an enchanted place among the piñon-juniper grasslands where ancient Indigenous rock symbols like Dragonflies can be seen. Gloria Chattin's dancing dragonfly has been carved from a naturally curvaceous and iridescent abalone. Zunis believe dragonflies carry prayers. Eyes are from colorful red coral inlays and a turquoise cabochon adorns a beautifully etched body and wings. About 3" long, 2 1/4 wide and 3/4" tall.
