Domaine Rollin Pernand Vergelesses 1er 'Ile de Vergelesses' 2022, Burgundy

This wine possesses both the elegance and the power that characterize the greatest Burgundy red wines. The nose is floral, intense, and elegant.  The palate is dense, notably expansive. with silky tannins.  This wine has great length, which is enhanced when enjoyed with a well-paired dish.  We found it to be stunning with a pork tenderloin with a mushroom - shallot reduction.  VINEYARDThis terroir is situated in the middle of the Vergelesses hillside slope and composed of very pebbly, shallow clay-limestone. Beneath it, a very brittle bedrock offers innumerable spaces to be explored by the vine roots. This gently sloped parcel faces east and was planted in 1946 (two-thirds) and 1989 (one third) VINIFICATION AND AGEINGHarvesting is entirely by hand.
