OSS Dagger
OSS DaggerThis dramatic dagger was inspired by the iconic “sleeve daggers” and “mission knives” developed by the British SOE (Special Operations Executive) and carried by many covert operatives of the American OSS (Office of Strategic Services—the predecessor of the CIA) during World War II. Designed by renowned Master Bladesmith Jason Knight, this modern interpretation of the concept is crafted from tough A2 tool steel. Its one-piece integral construction features a meticulously machined radial texture pattern on both sides of the coffin-shaped handle. Symmetrical grooves at both ends of the handle provide additional grip security and are complemented by an oval lanyard hole. The stout, perfectly symmetrical dagger blade is accented by central fullers on both sides and features two full-length cutting edges. Reminiscent of the classic V-42 dagger, the blade also has “thumb print” recesses on both sides that do double duty as retention points for the knife’s custom-molded Kydex sheath.
