The raw materials are top quality natural edible oils, chosen for their freshness and purity, at the doses laid down in the ancient Rancé formula. The technical improvements brought about over the years mainly regard the materials of the vessels and machines (now stainless steel and special alloys only) and the control methods used to ensure the highest quality. The blend of oils is transformed into soap in large boilers. For several days the soap undergoes repeated purification and refining stages, whose progress is continuously checked by chemical tests.
