ABOUT THE BIG ISLAND SPOT The Big Island Spot is an internal single-head pickup for fan-braced ukuleles. It is designed with the player in mind who seeks a quicker and easier mount than K&K's Aloha Twin pickup system. The second photo shows an installation on a basic fan-braced instrument. For ukuleles with X bracing, K&K recommends the Aloha Twin, which is well suited for both bracing types. The Big Island Spot has a strong output signal even without a preamp. Please keep in mind when playing without a preamp, the result depends somewhat on the quality and type of the amplification equipment.
