INVINCIBLE

THE STORY Oftentimes, less is more. On board of an Anacortes whale watching tour, everyone scanned the horizon for signs of whales. Meanwhile, I noticed how the peaceful movement of the sun-kissed royal blue water put my mind at total ease... I lost all train of thought, exploring the subtly shifting patterns — and a feeling of serene contemplation set in. Don't get me wrong: The whales we saw later were spectacular. But I knew that this moment right here was what I had really been searching for all along.
