Created in collaboration with the New York Public Library (NYPL) for their 2024 exhibition "The Awe of the Arctic: A Visual History," this notebook features images of advertising cards from a collection of approximately 100,000 trading cards from various countries. Artist Albert Operti made two voyages to the Arctic with American explorer Robert E. Peary, and the Hassan Cork Tip Cigarettes commissioned these collectible polar exploration cards. The reverse side of the cards provided biographical information and observations, which we've included on the notebook's inside cover.
