The high desert in New Mexico is punctuated with many spectacular cliffs and mesas. This one is located at Ghost Ranch. I challenged myself to paint the scene in 50 brushstrokes. Sometimes it might take a few more than that, or with a simpler subject, a few less, but the goal is always to keep it loose and painterly.
