This model is crafted after Nicholas Bertrand's 1720 bass viol, and is larger than the 1704 Bertrand model. It is ideal for solos, but it also plays well as a continuo instrument. It features a high-quality, fine-grain wood with a thick, glossy finish and ornate decorative purfling on the belly, back and edges of the instrument. The fingerboard and tailpiece will either have an ebony veneer, a burled maple veneer, or an ebony veneer with a maple border. Pegs are also of ebony. This instrument is sold in a soft case. For an extra charge, the pegbox can be carved with a decorative inlay. Dimensions: String Length 725mm Corpus Length 715mm Corpus Width 340mm x 246mm x 413mm
