A slow-grower, the petite Haworthia emelyae var. major forms 3-inch rosettes that are both perfectly formed and relatively flattened against the soil surface. The very fleshy, triangularly shaped leaves curve sharply away from the center of the plant and are deeply green, offset by a heavily textured surface, lighter green striations, and soft teeth along the margins. The entire leaf will blush to pink or even red during the cooler seasons of the year, and during the summer the white blooms with green veining that will emerge on tall stalks add yet another layer of contrast. Native to South Africa, Haworthia emelyae var. major demonstrates the same ease of care for which its genus is known.
