2021 Laurent Pataille Marsannay Es Chezots Blanc 'Vin Mille', Cote de Nuits, France

Variety: Chardonnay Rose Size: 0.12 ha (0.30 ac) Vine Age: Planted in 2015 Terroir: From the lieu-dit Les Echezeaux, a cool site located at the entrance of a valley. Rocky soil with little clay. Viticulture: Certified organic (Ecocert, 2023), biodynamic methods. High density plantation with 20,000 vines/ha. No hedging, canopies are braided (tressage) for optimum ripeness and balance. Vinification: Crushed and pressed for 5-6 hours with a basket press. Ambient yeast fermentation in barrels, no added SO2 during vinification. Aged for 12 months in barrels (40% new) and another 9 months in stainless steel tank. SO2 added when transferred to tank (25-40 ppm total at bottling).
