Blue Java Banana

Also known as the "Ice Cream" banana, this tropical plant is grown for its beautiful, fast-growing foliage and its delicious fruit! Bananas are blue-green in color and have a slight ice cream-like taste, making them a delicious treat. In our zone, plants will produce fruit with a little care and good luck! Simply cut off the top and wrap the remaining trunk (12-24" or so) with bubble wrap to insulate for winter before temperatures freeze. Plants not protected this way in the winter will still likely come back from the roots the following season but are unlikey to produce fruit.
