Brandywine Maple

This hybrid red maple was introduced to the trade by the U.S. National Arboretum and is grown for its awesome fall color, for its faster growth-rate than seedling red maples AND for its smaller, more compact growth-habit than other red maples. 'Brandywine' develops brilliant RED fall color which gradually matures to a rich REDDISH-PURPLE. Our grower says 'Brandywine' has the best and most consistent fall color by far of all the red maple selections! NOTE: These trees are much more deeply rooted than Silver Maples (which often have surface roots). This also makes for a stronger tree with less likelihood to topple during intense storms or ice.
